Set Sound Notification Preferences in Evertel
Let’s face it, you can’t stop and look at your phone every time you get a notification. That’s why it’s important you set distinct sounds for each type of notification in Evertel. That way, you have an idea of the type of message, along with its urgency, just from the notification tone.
How to Customize your Evertel Sound Notifications
It’s easy to set custom sounds for each notification type in Evertel:
- You can select a sound for each notification type:
- Room Messages– Regular and Urgent posts to rooms
- Direct Messages– Regular and Urgent messages in your conversations

- Go to the top right of the browser, and open your Profile Menu in the top.
- Select “Notifications”.
- NOTE: The “Allow Notifications” toggle will enable/disable notifications on ALL your devices where you’ve allowed notifications. The notification settings listed below are for this browser ONLY and will not effect notification settings on your other devices or browsers.
- These two toggles will enable/disable all notification types for each section, and for this browser only.
- Your browser notifications are now ready!
Mobile
- Navigate to Settings in the Mobile app.
- Select Notifications
- You can use the Allow Notifications toggle to enable/disable all notification on this device.
- You can also use the Room Messages and Direct Messages toggles to enable/disable sound notifications for each type.
- Tap the sound or arrow (to the right).
- Select the sound you wish for each type.
- Your sound preferences within the app are now ready!
